Terrazzo Flooring

NDESTRUCTIBLE
Terrazzo stands alone as a premier flooring system. This virtually ageless flooring material is composed of marble chips or other aggregates set within a matrix of a binding medium, such as epoxy or cement. Terrazzo floors in some parts of Europe are still in use and still as attractive centuries after their installation.
ADAPTABLE
Terrazzo's flexibility of application, vast color selection and compatibility with other materials make it a leading choice for new construction as well as renovations. Terrazzo's texture can be anything from sleek and smooth to rough and rustic or anything in between. The look of terrazzo enhances other materials; glass, wood, metal, masonry or synthetic.

COLORFUL
Terrazzo's color choices are unlimited. The broad spectrum of natural marble and aggregates combine to give architects, designers and builders an enormous range of color possibilities. Terrazzo can be matched to any PMS color.
ORIGINAL
Terrazzo is a poured-in-place system and can achieve the most imaginative of design possibilities. Through the creative use of divider strips, color, texture and dimension — our highly skilled installation team can perfectly interpret any pattern or design.

SANITARY
Terrazzo is easy to clean and maintain because it is seamless. It is ideal for hospitals, restaurants,
supermarkets and anywhere sanitary conditions are of paramount concern.

SAFE

Terrazzo can comply with any safety concern. Fireproof, Non-slip, Sanitary, and can be made Conductive. Terrazzo has important safety advantages that should be taken into consideration when planning any application.
COMFORTABLE
Terrazzo, according to U.S. Bureau of Standards (Report No. BMS 14) has, for all practical purposes affecting human fatigue, no less “give” under the foot, than wood, asphalt, tile or even regular inlaid linoleum.
ECONOMICAL
Terrazzo is the most cost-efficient flooring material available. It offers the beauty and elegance of solid marble and granite at a fraction of the cost. Because terrazzo doesn't wear out like tile or need replacement every few years like carpet, it truly is the economical flooring alternative.

Terrazzo
is a composite material poured in place or precast, which is used for floor and wall treatments. It consists of marble, quartz, granite, glass or other suitable chips, sprinkled or unsprinkled, and poured with a binder that is cementitious, chemical or a combination of both. Terrazzo is cured, ground and polished to a smooth surface or otherwise finished to produce a uniformly textured surface

Terrazzo flooring (both cement and thin-set epoxy) also requires only minimal, low-cost maintenance. Routine maintenance should be no more than dry and damp mopping, with an occasional spray buffing. Waxing or chemical cleaners only serve to cloud or damage the finish. Annual stripping and resealing can be done with water-based products.

Terrazzo is composed of naturally occurring aggregates, recycled glass or plastic and processed cement or epoxy binders. The binders constitute 25-30 percent of
volume of a floor; the remainder is composed of aggregates, pigments and fillers.
Post-consumer recycled glass or post-industrial stone from slab granite and marble processing increase the amount of recycled content in Terrazzo, along with recycled aluminum divider strips.

Both cement-based and thin-set epoxy Terrazzo systems are made of zero VOC materials. Terrazzo produces little or no off-gassing over the life of a cured floor. The non-porous Terrazzo finish resists microbial growth and moisture.

The potential for local sourcing is another environmental strength of Terrazzo. Manufactured on site, Terrazzo installations generally produce minimal post-commercial waste and save on transportation costs.
